This study traced the impact of Delhi&amp;rsquo;s free bus travel scheme for women, the first of its kind in India, on women&amp;rsquo;s daily lives. We surveyed over 500 women and conducted 20 in-depth interviews. The scheme significantly increased women&amp;rsquo;s independent mobility. The process involved over 100 consultations across towns in both states with cycle rickshaw drivers, owners, mechanics, unions, government officials, and political representatives. The resulting Draft Cycle Rickshaw (Protection of Livelihood, Promotion of Sustainable and Eco-friendly Mobility) Act sought to secure livelihoods while promoting non-motorised transport.</description></item></channel></rss>
