The programme covered urban mobility, urban agriculture, rivers and riverfronts, local governance, and climate justice. Through this work, I organised national conferences including Farming The City (2020, 2021), co-produced research reports, and brought together policymakers, scholars, civil society groups, and citizens for public consultations on urban policy.https://nishant-at-work.github.io/work/cycle-rickshaw-bill/Thu, 01 Jun 2017 00:00:00 +0000https://nishant-at-work.github.io/work/cycle-rickshaw-bill/Consulted with the Institute for Democracy and Sustainability, Delhi, on a two-year research and advocacy programme that resulted in two draft bills for urban transport in Bihar and Jharkhand. The process involved over 100 consultations across towns in both states with cycle rickshaw drivers, owners, mechanics, unions, government officials, and political representatives. The resulting Draft Cycle Rickshaw (Protection of Livelihood, Promotion of Sustainable and Eco-friendly Mobility) Act sought to secure livelihoods while promoting non-motorised transport.
